byrunningtheLDIFDE

TheLDIFDEcommanddoesnotupdate,create,ordeleteanyLDAPrecordsthatarenotdefinedintheLDIF
file.ThisallowsyoutocustomizeanLDIFfilesothatonlyselectedrecordsareaffectedwhenyouimportthe
file.

InViewManager3.1orearlier,youmustbeloggedintoaViewConnectionServerinstanceasan
administrator,andbeamemberoftheLocalAdministratorsusergroup.

AdministratorsroletoimportconfigurationdatasuccessfullyintotheViewconfigurationrepository.
To import configuration data into a View Connection Server instance using LDIFDE
1 SelectStart>AllPrograms>ADAM>ADAMToolsCommandPrompt.
2Atthecommandprompt,typetheLDIFDEcommandandspecifyanexistingLDIFfileasanargumentto
the -foption.
LDIFDE -i -f myexport.LDF -s 127.0.0.1 -z
EntertheotheroptionstotheLDIFDEcommandasshownintheexample.
TheconfigurationofyourViewConnectionServerinstanceisupdatedwiththedatafromthefile,andthe
numberofrecordsthathavebeensuccessfullyupdatedisdisplayed.Alargenumberoferrormessages
aredisplayedthatindicate
wheneveranexistingentryintherepositoryhasbeenoverwritten.Sucherrors
canbeignored.Errorsarealsodisplayedifsomerecordscouldnotbeupdatedbecauseyourrolehas
insufficientprivileges.
