Ifyouwanttoautomaticallyadddeployeddesktopstoadomain,selectWindows
ServerDomainandentertheappropriatenameinthefieldprovided.Intheuser
name,password,andpasswordconfirmationfields,enterthecredentialsfora
user
whohastherequisitelevelofpermissiontoaddasystemstothisdomain.

Deploying an Automated Desktop Pool

thenclicktheInventorytab.IntheGlobaldesktopandpoolviewpane,ensurethat
theDesktopsandPoolstabisselectedandclickAdd.

deployanewlinkedclonedesktoppool.SelectAutomatedDesktopPoolandclick

5EntertheUniqueIDand,optionally,theDisplaynameandDescription.
TheuniqueIDisusedbyViewManagertoidentifythedesktoppoolandisthe
namethattheuserseeswhen
loggingin.TheuniqueIDanddisplaynamecanbe
arbitrarybutifyoudonotspecifyadisplaynametheuniqueIDisusedforboth.
Onceyouhaveprovidedthedesktopidentificationdetails,clickNext.
Pool Type Description
Persistent Desktopsinthistypeofpoolareallocatedstaticallyinordertoensure
thatusersconnecttothesamesystemeachtimetheylogin.Desktop
assignmenttakesplacethefirsttimetheuserconnects.
Non‐persistent Desktopsinthistypeofpoolareallocateddynamicallywhentheuser
logsin,
andarereturnedtothepoolwhentheuserdisconnects.
NOTEYoucanuseanyalphanumericcharacter,includingspaces,toprovidean
optionaldescription.Thedescriptioncanbeupto1024charactersinlengthandis
onlyvisiblefromwithinViewAdministrator.
