LDAPconfigurationinformation.
LDIFdataisimportedintoViewManagerusingLDIFDE,autilityincludedwith
WindowsServer2003thatsupportsbatchoperationsbasedontheLDIFfileformat
standard.
To import View Manager configuration data
Fromthecommandpromptonastandardor
replicaViewConnectionServer,change
totheLDAPdirectoryandexecutethefollowingcommand:
LDIFDE -i -f vdmconfig.ldf -s 127.0.0.1
Thiscommandimportsafilecal ledvdmconfig.ldfthatcontainspreviouslyexported
ViewLDAPconfigurationdata.

ViewConnectionServer.

Optimization Calculation
Thefollowingcalculation,whereistheprojectednumberofconcurrentclient
connectionsandistheintendednumberofViewConnectionServersinyour
replicatedgroup,shouldbeappliedwhendeterminingthehashtableorephemeral
portsize,denotedby :
Ephemeral Ports
ViewManagerusesephemeralportstoestablishTCPconnectionsbetweenView
ConnectionServerandthedesktopsitadministers.Anephemeralportisashortlived
endpointthatisautomaticallycreatedbytheoperatingsystemwhenaprogram
requestsanyavailableuserport.Theportnumberisdrawnfromapredefinedrange
(typicallybetween1024and65535)andisreleasedafterithasserveditspurpose.
