carryoutcertainoperationsinVirtualCenter.Thesepermissionsaregrantedby
creatingandassigningVirtualCenterrolestoaViewManageruserfromwithin
VirtualCenter.
AssigntheViewManageradministratortheroleofadministratorforadatacenteror
clusterwherepools
willbecreatedsothattheycanmaketherequiredchanges.
To create the a View Manager role for VirtualCenter user
1InVirtualCenter,clicktheAdministrationbutton.
2Ifitisnotalreadyselected,clicktheRolestabandclickAddRole.
3Enteranamefortherole(View Administrator,forexample).
4InthelistofPrivileges,expandFolderandselect
CreateFolderandDeleteFolder.
5 ExpandVirtualMachineandperformthefollowingsteps:
a ExpandInventoryandselectCreateandselectRemove.
b ExpandInteractionandclickPowerOn,PowerOff,Suspend,andReset.
c ExpandConfigurationandselectAddnewdisk,AddorRemoveDevice,
ModifyDeviceSettings,
andAdvanced.
d ExpandProvisioningandselectCustomize,DeployTemplate,andRead
CustomizationSpecifications.
6 ExpandResourceandselectAssignVirtualMachinetoResourcePool.
7ClickOK.Thenewroleappearsinthelistofroles.
NOTEAdministrativeusersinVirtualCenterhavealltherequisitepermissionsenabled
bydefault.
