Chapter 6 View Composer
5ClickRebalance.YouarepresentedwiththeRebalancewizard,whichprovides
youwithinformationaboutwhatwillhappenwhenyourebalanceoneormore
desktopsinthepool.Onceyouhavereadthisinformationandaresatisfiedthat
youwanttoproceedclickNext.
6Ifyoupreviouslyselectedoneor
morevirtualmachinesfromthedesktopsource
listyoucanchoosetorebalanceonlythesesystemsbyselectingthecorresponding
radiobutton.Ifyoudidnotselectanyvirtualmachines,orwanttorebalancethe
entirepool,selectAllvirtualmachines.ClickNext.
7Schedulewhenyouwanttherebalanceevent
totakeplace(thedefaultissettothe
currenttime,andthereforeimmediately):
Ifyouwantanycurrentlyconnecteduserstobeloggedoffassoonasthe
rebalanceeventstarts,selectForceUserstologoff.
Ifyouwantthesystemtowaituntilauserhasdisconnectedbeforeinitiating
arebalancingoftheirdesktop,selectWaitforuserstologoff.
ClickNext.
8TheReadytoCompletepageisdisplayed.Thispageprovidesasummaryofthe
rebalancetask,includingwhenthetaskisscheduled
tostartandhowmanyvirtual
machineswillbeaffected.
Ifyouare satisfiedthattheinformationdisplayedonthispageiscorrect,click
Finishtostarttherebalance.
Using an Existing View Composer Database
WhenselectingtheODBCdatasourceduringtheinstallationoftheViewComposer
serviceyoucanuseanexistingdatabasethatalreadycontainsViewComposerdata.
However,inordertomakethisdatasourcecompatiblewithanewinstanceoftheView
ComposerserviceyoumustfirsttransfertheRSAkey
containercreatedbytheoriginal
ViewComposerservicetothenewhostsystem.

OTEIfyouselectthisoption,connecteduserswillbenotifiedpriorto
disconnectionandgiventheopportunitytoclosetheirapplicationsandlog
out.ThenotificationmessagecanbeaccessedfromwithintheGlobalSettings
sectionoftheconfigurationviewinViewAdministrator.
NOTERSAkeypairsarecreatedbytheViewComposerserviceinordertoencryptand
decryptthesensitiveauthenticationinformationthatisstoredinsidetheView
Composerdatabase.
