Chapter 6 View Composer
Ifyouwanttomakechangestothedatastoreprofile(addorremoveastorage,or
modifythepoolconfiguration)beforerebalancing,youmustfirstusetheEditDesktop
wizardtoreconfigurethepool.
To refresh a linked clone desktop pool
1FromwithintheViewAdministrator,clickDesktopsandPoolstodisplaythe
desktoppage.
2Ensurethatthe
Inventorytabisselectedintheleftpaneandselectthepersistent
desktoppoolyouwanttorefresh.
3 Selectoneofthefollowingoptions:
Torefreshtheentiredesktoppool,ensurethattheSummarytabisselectedin
therightpane.
Torefreshthedesktopsassignedtospecificusersinthedesktoppool,ensure
thattheUsersandGroupstabisselectedintherightpane.
Ifyouwanttorefreshthedesktopofoneormoreassignedusers,selectthe
correspondingcheckboxes.Youdonotneedtodothisif
youwanttorefresh
thedesktopsofallassignedusers.
Torefreshspecificdesktopsourcesinthepool,ensurethattheDesktop
Sourcestabisselectedintherightpane.
Ifyouwanttorefreshmultipledesktops,selectthecorrespondingcheck
boxes.Youdonotneedtodothisifyouwanttorefreshallthedesktopsinthe
pool.
4ClickEdit
Image.YouarepresentedwiththeEditImagewizard.Selectthe
RefreshoptionandclickNext.

OTERebalancingwillautomaticallyinitiatearefreshofthetargetdesktopor
desktops.Inaddition,onlydesktopsintheReady,Error,orCustomizingstatewithno
schedulesorpendingcancellationscanberebalanced.
CAUTIONDonotmodifytheParentVM(forexample,convertittoatemplate)from
withinVirtualCenterbeforeorduringanyoftheproceduresdescribedinthissection.
