VirtualCenter Permissions for View Manager Users
TouseVirtualCenterwithViewManager,administratorsmusthavepermissionto
carryoutcertainoperationsinVirtualCenter .Thesepermissionsaregrantedby
creatingandassigningVirtualCenterrolestoaViewManageruserfromwithin
VirtualCenter.
AssigntheViewManageradministratortheroleofadministratorforadatacenteror
clusterwherepoolswillbecreatedsothattheycanmaketh
erequiredchanges.
To create the a View Manager role for VirtualCenter user
1InVirtualCenter,clicktheAdministrationbutton.
2Ifitisnotalreadyselected,clicktheRolestabandclickAddRole.
3Enteranamefortherole(View Administrator,forexample).
4InthelistofPrivileges,expandFolderandselectCreateFo
lderandDeleteFolder.
5 ExpandVirtualMachineandperformthefollowingsteps:
a ExpandInventoryandselectCreateandselectRemove.
b ExpandInteractionandclickPowerOn,PowerOff,Suspend,andReset.
c ExpandConfigurationandselectAddnewdisk,AddorRemoveDevice,
ModifyDeviceSettings,andAd
vanced.
d ExpandProvisioningandselectCustomize,DeployTemplate,andRead
CustomizationSpecifications.
6 ExpandResourceandselectAssignVirtualMachinetoResourcePool.
7ClickOK.Thenewroleappearsinthelistofroles.
Initial View Manager Configuration
OnceyouhaveinstalledoneormoreViewConnectionServerinstancesyoumust
performaninitialconfigurationsothattheyarereadytocarryoutadministrativetasks.

administrativecomponentofViewManager.
