ViewLDAPisanembeddedLightweightDirectoryAccessProtocoldirectorythat

Virtualdesktopentriesthatrepresenteachaccessiblevirtualdesktop—this
containsreferencestotheForeignSecurityPrincipal(FSP)entriesofWindows
usersandWindowsusergroupsinActiveDirectorywhoareauthorizedtousethis
desktop.
Virtualdesktoppoolentriesthatrepresentmultiplevirtualdesktopsmanaged
together
Virtualmachineentriesthatrepresenteachvirtualdesktop
ViewManagercomponentconfigurationentriesusedtostoreconfiguration
settings
ViewLDAPalsoincludesasetofViewManagerpluginDLLsthatprovideautomation
andnotificationservicesforotherViewManagercomponents.
Preparing for Installation
ViewManagerusesephemeralportsinordertoestablishTCPconnectionsbetweenthe
ViewConnectionServerandthedesktopsitadministers.Anephemeral(shortlived)
portisonethatisautomaticallycreatedbytheoperatingsystemwhenaprogram
requestsanyavailableuserport.Theportisdrawnfromapredefinedrang
e(typically
between1024and65535)andreleasedonceithasserveditspurpose.
Thedefaultmaximumnumberofephemeralportsthatcanbecreatedsimultaneously
onWindows2003Serveris5000.IfyouareplanningtodeployViewManagerintoan
environmentwherealargenumber(>1000)ofconcurrentclientconn
ectionsislikely,it
isstronglyrecommendedthatyouincreasethenumberofavailableephemeralports.
