profileinformation.Inaddition,anewcomputeraccountcorrespondingtoeach
desktopiscreatedbyQuickPrepontheActiveDirectorydomaincontroller.These
eventsalsotakeplaceafteradesktoprefresh.
Afteradesktopiscr
eatedorafterarefresh,auserdefinedcustomizationscriptcanbe
optionallyappliedtoeachresynchronizeddesktopinordertocarryoutadditional
operations.Ascriptcanalsobeappliedtodesktopsimmediatelypriortothembeing
poweredoff.QuickPrepisresponsibleforensuringthatthesescriptsarereadand
executeddu
ringeitherscenario.
Youarepresentedwiththeopportunitytoprovidethepathtoeachtypeofscript
(whichmustresideontheParentVM)duringthefinalstageoftheinitiallinkedclone
desktopdeployment.
Preparing VirtualCenter for View Composer
Beforecarryingoutalinkedclonedesktopdeploymentyoumustconfigurethe
VirtualCenterhostsysteminordertoprepareitforcreatingreplicasandlinkedclone
desktopsfromaParentVMusingtheViewComposerservice.
TheviewcomposerservicemustbeinstalledlocallyontheVirtualCenterserver.
YourActiveDirectoryadministratormustcreateauserwiththerequisitelevelof
authoritytobeusedbytheViewComposerservicetocreatelinkedclonedesktops
andaddthemtoyourdomain.
IftheVirtualCenteruserusedbyViewManagerisnotanadministrator,youmust
extendtheirroletoincorporateVirtualCenterprivilegesrequiredbytheView
ComposerService.
IfanavailableresourcepooldoesnotalreadyexistwithinVirtualCenter,youmust
createoneontheESXhostorclusterinwhichyouwanttostorethelinkedclone
desktops.RefertotheVirtualCenterdocumentationonhowtodothis.
Ifonedoesnotalreadyexistwithinyournetworkenvironment,adatabaseand
datasourcename(DSN)mustbecreatedinordertostorelinkedclonedesktops.
