Setting Adobe Flash Quality and Throttling
YoucanspecifyamaximumallowablelevelofqualityforAdobeFlashcontentthat
overridesanyWebpagesettings.IfAdobeFlashqualityforagivenWebpageishigher
thanthemaximumlevelallowed,qualityisreducedtothespecifiedmaximum.Lower
qualityresultsinmorebandwidthsavings.Thefollowing
AdobeFlashrender‐quality
modesareavailable:
 Donotcontrol:QualityisdeterminedbyWebpagesettings.
 Low
 Medium
 High
Ifnomaximumlevelofqualityisspecified,thesystemdefaultstoavalueofLow.
AdobeFlashusestimerservicestoupdatewhatisshownonthescreenatagiventime.
AtypicalAdobeFlashtimerinterv alvalueisbetween4and50milliseconds.By
throttling,orprolonging,the
interval,youcanreducetheframerateandthereby
reducebandwidth.Thefollowingthrottlingmodesareavailable:
 Disabled:Nothrottlingisperformed.Thetimerintervalisnotmodified.
 Conservativemode:Timerintervalis100milliseconds.Thissettingresultsinthe
lowestnumberofdroppedframes.
 Moderatemode:Timerintervalis500milliseconds.
 Aggressivemode:Timerintervalis2500milliseconds.Thesettingresultsinthe
highestnumberofdroppedframes.
Audiospeedremainsconstantregardlessofwhichthrottlingmodeyouselect.
To configure Adobe Flash quality and throttling
1FromwithinViewAdministrator,clickEditandselectDesktop/PoolSettings.
2SelectanappropriatequalitymodefromtheAdobeFlas hqualitydrop‐downmenu.
3 Select
anappropriatethrottlingmodefromtheAdobeFlashthrottlingdrop‐down
menu.
4ClickFinish.
ThesettingsyouconfigurednowappearinDesktop/PoolSettingspane.
NOTEAdobeFlashbandwidthreductionsettingsdonottakeeffectuntilViewClient
reconnectswiththedesktop.
