4. Click Start Recovery to launch the new instance. You must provide the proper number of
licenses to provision the new instance. See What are the licensing requirements?

Take a Snapshot
1. To take a snapshot, View Instances and click a row in the table of instances. This opens the
configuration for the instance.
2. Click Take Snapshot.

View a Snapshot
After a scheduled backup is made, it appears in the Snapshots list.
On the vCloud Air SQL home page, choose Snapshots.

The snapshots you see depend on your role.
• DBAdmin. As an admin, and the creator of the vCloud Air SQL instance, DBAdmin can see every
snapshot created in the server instance.
• SnapshotAdmin. Can see every snapshot created in the server instance.
When you click a row in the snapshot list, you see the detail for the snapshot. Use the navigation arrows
to browse to other snapshot details:

Restore a Snapshot
1. Go to the snapshot list and view a snapshot.
2. On the Snapshot Detail page, click Create Instance from this Snapshot:
This starts the launch new instance process.
