Working with Instances
This section discusses the management tasks for your instance.

View an Instance
On the vCloud Air SQL home page, choose Instances from the main menu.
The instances you can view are determined by the roles assigned to your account at the server or
instance level.
Once you are viewing the instance details you can use the navigation arrows to view another instance:

Edit an Instance
View an instance, and click on a row in the instance table to see the details for an instance. Many of the
options you set at instance creation time can be edited. Click the tabs to see the options you can modify.
Basic Info: You can reset the master user login and password. Remember, you can't use the SQL
Server users sa or sys.
Access Control: Edit your permissions, or grant permissions to other users. See Instance Level
Permissions.
vDC Connections. Click Edit to change the vDCs that can view this instance. Check your
selections, then click Save.
Recovery Options. Click Edit to set the recovery options, make selections, then click Save.
PITR. This is not so much an edit function as the opportunity to access the PITR information that
has been automatically stored for the instance. See Restore to a Point in Time for a description
of how to use this tab.
Maintenance. Click Edit to alter the time of the maintenance upgrade, then click Save.
