Create a Recovery Plan
RecoveryplansarecreatedwithaRecoveryPlanwizardthatpromptsyouforaplan
nameandtheprotectiongroupstoincludeintheplan.WithSRMrecoveryplans,
you can:
Createmorethanonerecoveryplan.Forexample,youcanspecifyoneplanfor
wholesitefailures,othersforlarge,partialfailures,oryoumaywantonerecovery
planforeachbusinessunit.
Includethesameprotectiongroupinmorethanonerecoveryplan.
Createemptyrecoveryplansfortesting.

Duringrecoveryplancreation,youchoosewhichvirtualmachinestosuspendduring
recovery.Thevirtualmachinesthataresuspendedarethelocalvirtualmachinesthat
runontherecoveryhost.Suspendingnoncriticalresourcessavesspace
andfreesCPU
andmemoryresourcesonhosts.
Themachinesthatarepoweredonarethemachinesthatarebeingfailedover.When
therecoveryruns,thevirtualmachinespowerondependingontheresponsetimesset
intheplan.VirtualmachinescanbecategorizedasHigh,Normal,Low,orNo
Power
Onsothattheystartinthecorrectorderwhentheplanruns.
Tocreatearecoveryplan,thefollowingconditionsmustbeinplace:

1UsingtheVIClient,logintotherecoverysiteVirtualCenterServer.
2ClickSiteRecoveryontheVIClienttoolbar.
3ClickRecoveryPlansintheInventorylist.
4IntheCommandspaneontheSummarytab,clickCreateRecoveryPlan.
5Enteranameandanoptionaldescription
fortherecoveryplanandclickNext.
6 SelecttheprotectiongroupstoincludeintheplanandclickNext.
Youcanincludeoneormoreprotectiongroupsinarecoveryplan.
