RecoverySRMAdministrator—ConfigureSANarraysandcreateprotection
profiles.
RecoveryVirtualMachineAdministrator—Createrecoveryvirtualmachinesand
addthemtotheresourcepool.Alsograntstheusertheabilitytoreconfigureand
customizetherecoveryvirtualmachineswhenarecoveryplanisrun.
TheVirtualCenterServerdefinesaRead‐Onlysystemrolethatcanbeusedtogrant
usersthe
abilitytoviewSRMproperties.Inaddition,theAdministratorrolecanbe
usedtograntuserscompletecontroloverboththeprotectionandrecovery
components.
Tosetuptheinventorymappings,aprotectedsiteusermustbeassignedthefollowing
roles:
“ProtectionSRMAdministrator”roleontheSRMrootobject.
“Read‐Only”roleontheVirtualCenterobjectbeingmappedonboththeprimary
andtherecoverysites.
Add Roles
Someofthedefaultroles(suchasAdministrator)arepreconfiguredandcannotbe
changed.Ifyouhavesituationsthatrequireadifferentcombinationofaccessprivileges
thantheonessetup,createanadditionalroleormodifytheprovidedsamplerolesto
suityourneeds.
To add a role
1LogintotheVIClient
asauserwithAdministratorprivileges.
2FromtheVIClient,clicktheAdministrationbuttoninthenavigationbar.
3ClicktheRolestab.
4ClickAddRole.
5Typeanameforthenewrole.
6 Selecttheprivilegesforthenewroletohave(forexample,SiteRecovery)andclick
OK.Clickthe
plus(+)signstoexpandthelists,asneeded.
Assign VirtualCenter Access Permissions
Assigntonewusersandgroupstherolesandpermissionstotherelevantinventory
objects.
