YoumustinstallanSRMserverattheprotectedsiteandalsoattherecoverysite.After
theSRMservershavebeeninstalled,youcandownloadtheclientplug‐infromeither
servertoanyVIClientandusethatclienttoconfigureandmanageSRMateithersite.
SRMrequires
thesupportofaVirtualCenterserverateachsite.TheSRMinstallermust
beabletoconnectwiththisserverduringinstallation.IfyoucannotinstallSRMona
dedicatedserverhost,youcaninstallitonthesamehostwheretheVirtualCenter
Serverisinstalled.
InstallingSRMincludesthefollowingtasks:
1InstallSRMontheprotectedsite.
2InstallSRMattherecoverysite.
3UsingaVIClient,connecttoaVirtualCenterServerattheprotectedorrecovery
siteanddownloadtheSRMplugin.
UpdatingSRMincludesthefollowingtasks:
1 BackuptheSRMdatabaseattheprotectedandrecoverysites.
2 UpdateSRMonthe
protectedsite.
3 UpdateSRMattherecoverysite.
4UsingaVIClientonwhichtheSRMplug‐inisnotinstalled,connecttoa

plug‐in.
