Resolution
Whileneitherconditioniscritical,determinethesequenceofeventsthatledtothecondition.

Thismessageindicatesthatyouhaveexceededtheamountofallocateddiskspacereservedfortheactive
servers sendqueue.
Symptom
ReplicationstopsandthevCenterServerHeartbeatEventLogdisplaystheerrormessageoriginatingfromthe
activeserver.
Causes
AtemporaryinterruptionintheVMwareChannel,orinsufficientVMwareChannelbandwidthtosupportthe
volumeofreplicationtrafficstartsfillingtheactiveserverqueue.Thesizeofthequeueeventuallyexceedsthe
configureddiskquota.
Resolution
Assumingnootherchannelconnectionissuesexist(seeknowledgebasearticle1008551(vCSHBRef992)‐
TroubleshootingVMwarevCenterServerChannelDrops),youcanincreasetheamountofdiskspaceallottedtothe
queues.Thedefaultsettingis1GB,whichcanbeinsufficientonserverswithalargevolumeofreplication
trafficandlimitedVMwareChannelbandwidth.Ifyouhavesufficientdiskspace,setthequeuesizetozero
(unlimited)sovCenterServerHeartbeatcanuseanyfreediskspacetostorethequeues.

Thismessageindicatesthatyouhaveexceededtheamountofallocateddiskspacereservedforthepassive
servers receivequeue.
Symptom
ReplicationstopsandthevCenterServerHeartbeatEventLogdisplaystheerrormessageoriginatingfromthe
passiveserver.
Causes
Twoofthemostcommoncausesareshownbelow:
ThebottleneckliesbetweentheVMwareChannelNICandthedisksubsystemonthepassiveserver.
ReplicationtrafficpassesacrosstheVMwareChannelfasterthanitcanbewrittentodiskonthepassive
server.Theexcessisbufferedtemporarilyinthepassiveserversreceivequeue.Thesizeofthequeue
can
eventuallyexceedtheallotteddiskquota.
Ifthepassiveserverismuchlesspowerfulthantheactiveserverintermsofprocessorspeed,RAM,or
diskperformance,itcanlagbehindtheactiveserverduringperiodsofhighreplicationactivity.Monitor
oneormoreWindowsperformancecounterstodeterminethecomponentexperiencingsustainedhigh
activity.Intensivepage
fileuseorpersistentlylargediskqueuelengthcanindicateaproblem.Upgrade
oneormorephysicalcomponentsoftheserver.
Eitherservercanbeactiveorpassive.IftheSecondaryserverismorepowerfulthanthePrimaryserver,
hardwarerelatedissuescanonlyoccurwhiletheSecondaryserverisin
theactiverole.
