Configure Alerts
vCenterServerHeartbeatcansendpredefinedalertstoremoteadministratorsbyemailusingLogs>

YoucanconfigurealertsinbyclickingConfigureAlertsontheLogspage
Youcanconfigurethreealertstates:Redalertsarecritical,yellowalertsarenotasserious,andgreenalertsare
informational.
Thesealertsarepreconfiguredwiththerecommendedalertinglevels.
Toreconfigureeacheventtotriggerred,yellow,green,ornoalert,selecttheappropriatetab,selectthecheck
boxes,andclickOK.

Alertconditionexists.
To configure email alerts
1ClickLogs:MailSettingstoopentheMailSettingsdialog.
2TypetheoutgoingSMTPserverofboththePrimaryserver(whenactive)andtheSecondaryserver(when
active)intheappropriate
fields.
3TypetheFQDNofthemailserver.Typeanemailaddressthatisauthorizedtosendmailthroughthe
SMTPserver.
4IftheSMTPserversrequireauthenticationtoacceptandforwardSMTPmessages,selectMailServer
requiresauthenticationandspecifythecredentialsforanappropriateauthenticateduseraccount.
5ClickOK.
You
canconfigureemailrecipientsintheOnRedAlert,OnYellowAlert,andOnGreenAlerttabsofthe
ConfigureAlertsdialogafterconfiguringthetriggerlevelsandtheemailserver.
