Editing a Service
To change the options of a protected service
1 SelecttheserviceandclickEdit.
TheEditServicedialogopenstoprovideasubsetofsameoptionsavailablewhenaddinganewservice.
2MakethemodificationsandclickOK.
Checking the Status of Services
TheApplications:Servicespagedisplaysthestatusofallprotectedservices.Thestatusshowsboththetarget
andactualstateforboththePrimaryandSecondaryserversandtheFailureCountsforbothservers.
Unprotecting User Defined Services and Stopping Monitoring
To unprotect and stop monitoring user defined services
1ClickApplications:Services,selecttheuserdefinedservice,andclickEdit.
2ClearManageStartingandStoppingandMonitorState.ClickOK.
Change the Order of Services
TheorderofservicescanbemodifiedusingUpandDownarrows.Theexactorderinwhichservicesstartand
stopisinfluencedbyanumberofkeyfactors:
Theorderofapplicationsspecifiedbyplug‐insdetermineswhichservicesarestartedfirst.
Servicescanhavedependencies,andthesemustberespected.Forexample,ifserviceBislistedafter
serviceAundertheUser‐Definedgroup,andserviceAdependsonServiceB,ServiceBstartsfirst.
Multipleapplicationscanusethesameservice(thesameservicecanappearundermorethanone
sponsor).Theservicestartswhenthefirstapplicationtoreferenceitstarts.
Theorderofstoppingservicesisthereverseforstartingservices.
Removing a Service
To remove a service
1 SelecttheserviceintheApplications:Servicespage.
2ClickRemove.
Theserviceisremovedfromtheprotectedlist.

placealockonsomefilespreventingsynchronizationfromcompleting.

failedarerestarted.Dependentservicesdonotstopandrestartasaresultofthefailure.
