Install the .NET Framework on the Lab Manager Server
InstallIISbeforeyouinstalltheMicrosoft.NETFramework2.0.
To install .NET Framework
1OpentheMicrosoftWebsite.
2Searchfor.NETFramework.
Forexample,tosearchfortheServicePack1download,enter.NET 2.0 SP1 download x86intheSearch
field.
3 Downloadandinstall.NETFramework.
Credential Requirements for Connecting to vCenter Server from
Lab Manager
TosetupaconnectionwithvCenterServer,Lab ManagerrequiresauserwhoisassignedaroleinvCenter
withatleasttheprivilegeslistedinTable 2‐1.YoucanassignWindowsusersorvCenteruserstothisrole.
The usermusthavethesepermissionsfortheentirevCenterServersystem.
Whenyouassignthepermissions,
makesuretoselectthePropagatetoChildObjectscheck box.
IfyousetuptheconnectionwithauserassignedtheAdministratorroleinvCenter,theuserhastheproper
credentials.
Lab Managerrequirestheusertohavecertainpermissionsonobjects.Iftheuserchangestoanother
vCenter
rolewithfewerprivileges,LabManageroperationsarehindered.Forexample,assigningtheusertotheNo
accessroleforanobject,suchasaresourcepool,blocksthevisibilityofthisobjectinaLab Manager
