InstallLab ManagerServersoftwareonavirtualmachine.
VMwarerecommendssharedstorage.Alargernumberofhostswithshared
storageallowsLab ManagertotakeadvantageofVMwareInfrastructure
capabilities.Ifyoustorevirtualmachinefilesonlocal(notshared)storage,youcan
onlydeploythevirtualmachinesonthelocalESXhost.
InstallVirtualCenterServersoftwareonavirtualmachine.Seethetechnicalwhite
paper,RunningVirtualCenterinaVirtualMachine,intheTechnicalResources
sectionoftheVMwareWebsite.
DonotinstalltheLab ManagerServersoftware onaphysicalorvirtualmachine
thatcontainsVirtualCenterServersoftware.IfyouhaveLab ManagerServerand
VirtualCenterServersoftwareinstalledinseparatevirtualmachines,thesevirtual
machinescanresideonthesameESXhost.
IftheLab ManagerServersystemrunsinavirtualmachineonanESXhostunder
Lab Managercontrol,certainoperationsaffectallvirtualmachines,suchas
UndeployallVMsandRedeployallVMs.Theseoperationsdonotaffectvirtual
machinesonthesameESXhostthatareoutsideofLab Managercontrol.
