Configuring Additional Media Storage (NFS) Prior to Installing the
Managed Server
BeforeinstallingtheManagedServer,configuretheNFSserverifyouplanonhaving
extramediastoragebesidesthedefaultmediastorageserverontheLabManager
Server.
ConfiguringanNFSserverinvolvesthesetasks:
Createa/ISOdirectory(usecapitalletters)undertheexportedshare.
Forexample,iftheNFSserveris10.6.1.2:/export/medialib,theusermust
createthe/export/medialib/ISOdirectoryontheNFSserver.LabManager
requiresyoutopopulatethe/ISOdirectorywiththemediafiles.
UsetheVIClienttosetuptheVMkernelnetwork.
YouneedanIPaddressspecificallyforthisprocess.SeetheVMwareInfrastructure
3documentationfordetailsontheVIClient.
To set up the VMkernel network
1IntheConfigurationtaboftheVIClient,clickNetworkingintheHardwarebox.
2ClickthePropertieslinkfortheswitch
associatedwiththeappropriateNIC.
3ClicktheAddbutton.
4 SelecttheVMkerneloption.
5Entertherequirednetworkinformation.Makesuretoenterthecorrectgatewayfor
theVMkernel.
6ClickFinish.
ThisprocedureisrequiredforallManagedServersystemsthatyouneedtoattachto
LabManager.AfterinstallingtheManagedServer
systemsandLabManagerServer,
