Delete Expired Virtual Machines
Whenthestorageleaseforavirtualmachineexpires,Lab Managerdeletesthevirtualmachineormarksitfor
deletion,dependingontheresourcecleanupsettings.See“ConfiguringResourceCleanupSettings”on
page 143.YoucandeletevirtualmachinesthataremarkedfordeletionintheVirtualMachineDatastoreUsage

Bydefault
onlyasystemadministratorandanadministratorwithrightsattheorganizationlevelcandelete
expiredvirtualmachines.
To delete expired virtual machines
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2OntheDatastorestab,clickViewDatastoreUsage.
Toviewtheusageononedatastore,movethepointeroverthedatastorenameandselectOpen.
3ClickRefresh
DiskSpacetoensurethatthedataiscurrent.
4ClickDeleteExpiredVMs.
Lab Managerdeletesalltheundeployedvirtualmachineswithanexpiredstoragelease.IntheGlobal
organization,Lab Managerdeletesalltheexpiredvirtualmachines.Fortheotherorganizations,
Lab Manageronlydeletestheexpiredvirtualmachinesownedbyusersin
theselectedorganization.
Renew the Storage Lease for an Expired Virtual Machine
Whenthestorageleaseforavirtualmachineexpires,Lab Managerdeletesthevirtualmachineormarksitfor
deletion,dependingontheresourcecleanupsettings.See“ConfiguringResourceCleanupSettings”on
page 143.
YoucanrenewthestorageleaseforvirtualmachinesthataremarkedfordeletionintheVirtualMachine
Datastore
Usagepage.Bydefault,onlyasystemadministratorandanadministratorwithrightsatthe
organizationlevelcanreviewstorageleases.
To renew the storage lease for an expired virtual machine
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2OntheDatastorestab,clickViewDatastoreUsage.
Toviewtheusageononedatastore,movethepointeroverthedatastorenameandselect
Open.
3ClickRefreshDiskSpacetoensurethedataiscurrent.
4MovethepointerovertheexpiredvirtualmachinenameandselectRenewStorageLease.
5ClickOK.
Lab Managerrenewsthestorageleasefortheselectedvirtualmachineandallothervirtualmachinesin
itsconfiguration(ifapplicable)andupdatestheCleanup
Datecolumntoreflectthenewleaseexpiration
date.Expiredleasesarerenewedforthesameperiodastheoriginallease(forexample,30days).
Delete Revert Points
Revertpointstakeupspaceondatastoressodeletingthemfreesupspace.
To delete a revert point
