Redeploy All Virtual Machines on a Different Host
Whenyouredeploy,youareundeployingthevirtualmachinesfromthecurrenthostandredeployingthemto
otheravailablehosts.Beforeyoucanredeployitsvirtualmachines,youneedtodisableahost.
The organizationfromwhichtheredeploymentisinitiatedmusthaveaccesstoanotherhostthatisCPU
compatiblewith
thecurrenthostandhasthecapacitytodeploythevirtualmachines.
To redeploy all virtual machines on a host
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2IntheHoststab,movethepointeroverthehostnameandselectDisable.
3ClickOK.
4MovethepointeroverthehostnameandselectRedeployAllVMs.
IntheGlobalorganization,
Lab Managerundeploysallthevirtualmachinesdeployedonthehost.
For theotherorganizations,onlyvirtualmachinesdeployedbyusersintheselectedorganizationare
undeployed.
5ClickOK.
Lab Managerredeploysthevirtualmachines.
Repair a Host
Iftheagentcannotbecontacted,iftheserviceVMispoweredoff,orifahostcannotbeenabledordisabledfor
HostSpanning,youcanrepairthehost.
To repair the host
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2IntheHoststab,movethepointeroverthehostnameandselectRepair.

Managing Datastores
Lab ManagersupportsVMFSandNFSdatastores,whichitaccessesthroughvCenter.Youcanadddatastores
byattachingthemtoESX/ESXihostsinvCenter.VMwarerecommendssharedstorage(NFS,iSCSI,orFiber
Channel).Ifyoustorevirtualmachinefilesonlocal(notshared)storage,youcanonlydeploythevirtual
machineson
thelocalESX/ESXihost.
Datastorescanalsobeenabledasmediastores.See“ManagingMediaStores”onpage 100.

OTEWhenyouselectRedeployallVMs,thevirtualmachinesaresuspended,buttheirstateissaved.
NOTEThereisalimitofeightmanagedservers(hosts)perLUN.Ifyouexceedthislimit,anerrormessage
