Delete a Virtual Machine Hard Disk
Youcandeleteavirtualmachineharddisk.
To delete a virtual machine hard disk
1MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandselectOpen.
2OntheVirtualMachinestab,movethepointeroverthevirtualmachinenameandselectProperties.
3IntheHardDiskssection,clickDelete.
4ClickOKandOK.
5ClickUpdate.
Modifying Virtual Machine Network Interfaces
Forvirtualmachinesinworkspaceconfigurations,youcanmodifynetworksettings,resetaMACaddress,add
anetworkinterface,anddeleteanetworkinterface.Virtualmachineversion4supportsuptofourNICs,and
virtualmachineversion7supportsuptotenNICs.
Edit Network Interface Settings
YoucandisconnectavirtualmachineNIC,changethenetworktowhichaNICconnects,specifyaprimary
NIC,andchangetheIPaddressingmodeforaNIC.
To edit network interface settings
1MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandselectOpen.
2OntheVirtualMachinestab,movethepointeroverthevirtualmachinename
andselectProperties.
3IntheNetworkInterfacessection,changeanyofthefollowingsettings:
DeselecttheConnectedcheckboxtodisconnectavirtualNIC.
SelectanetworkfromtheNetworkdrop‐downmenu.
Theavailableoptionsarebasedonthenetworksinthevirtualmachinetemplate.Ifyouhaveaccess
toothernetworksinLab Manager,youcanaddthemtotheconfigurationandtheywillappearhere.

SpecifyaprimaryNIC.
TheprimaryNICsettingdeterminesthedefaultandonlygatewayforthevirtualmachine.
The virtualmachinecanuseanyNICtoconnecttoothermachinesthataredirectlyconnectedtothe
samenetworkastheNIC,butitcanonlyusetheprimaryNICtoconnectto
machinesonnetworks
thatrequireagatewayconnection.
ConsiderthisbehaviorwhenselectingaprimaryNIC,especiallyifyouplantodeployconfigurations
thatusefencingorconnectvirtualnetworkstophysicalnetworks.
SelectanIPaddressingmodeforthenetwork.
TheavailableoptionsarebasedontheIPaddressingmodesavailabletotheselectednetwork.
Static‐IPPoolpullsstaticIPaddressesfromtheIPaddresspool.
DHCPpullsIPaddressesfromaDHCPserver.
ThisoptionavoidsthepreparationandspecificationofanIPaddressorIPrange.However,you
cannotuseLab ManagerfencingorconnectvirtualnetworkstophysicalnetworkswithDHCP.
