To deploy a LiveLink
1OpenaLiveLinkURLinabrowser.
IfyouarenotloggedintotheLab ManagerWebconsole,theloginpageappears.Typeyourusername
andpassword.
2IntheRestorevCenterLab ManagerLiveLink
page,selectaworkspace.
3ClickDeploytodeploytheconfigurationintheworkspace.
Theconfigurationusesitslibraryconfigurationnamewith“LiveLink”prefixedtoit.Forexample,“Oracle
LinuxBob”becomes“LiveLink–OracleLinuxBob(n),”where“n”indicatesthenumberoftimesthe
LiveLinkhasbeendeployed.
Exporting Configurations
YoucanexportanundeployedworkspaceorlibraryconfigurationandallitsvirtualmachinefilestovCenter
ortoanSMBshare.Whenyouexportaconfiguration,Lab Managercopiesallofitsvirtualmachinestothe
destinationasfullclones.Theoriginalconfigurationandallofitsvirtualmachinesremainavailable
in
Lab Manager.
Exportedconfigurationsmightrequireasignificantamountofdiskspaceonthedestinationdependingonthe
sizeoftheirconsolidatedvirtualdisks.
Export a Configuration to vCenter
Youcanexport aconfigurationtovCenterifyouwanttoaccesscopiesofitsvirtualmachinesthatarenotunder
Lab Managercontrol.YoucannotimportconfigurationsfromvCenter,althoughyoucanimportvirtual
machines.
To export a configuration to vCenter
1MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandselectExport.
2 SelectvCenter.
3Typeanexportname.
Duringtheexportoperation,vCentercopiestheconfigurationvirtualmac hi nestoafolderwiththename
youspecifyhere.
4 Selectadatastore.
5ClickOK.
Lab ManagercreatesconsolidatedcopiesoftheconfigurationvirtualmachinesandregisterstheminvCenter.
