Discard State for a Configuration
Whenyousavethe stateofaconfigurationbyeitherusingtheUndeploy‐SaveStateoptionorsuspendingthe
virtualmachinesintheconfiguration,Lab Managersavesinformationabouttheprocessortypeofthehoston
whichthevirtualmachinesweredeployed.Whenyouredeployaconfigurationwithsavedstate,Lab Manager
requires
anavailablehostwithacompatibleprocessortype.Ifprocessorincompatibilityissuespreventyou
fromdeployingaconfiguration,youcandiscardthesavedstate.
ThisrequirementespeciallyaffectsconfigurationsthatusefencingoravirtualnetworkwithoutHost
Spanning,sincetheserequirethatallthevirtualmachinesintheconfigurationget
deployedtothesamehost.
YoucanenableHostSpanningfortheseconfigurationstoallowthevirtualmachinestodeploytodifferent
hosts.
Youcanalsodiscardstatetofreeupstoragespace.
Youcanonlydiscardstateforundeployedconfigurationsthatincludeatleastonevirtualmachinewithsaved
state.
IfyouaddaworkspaceconfigurationwithsavedstatetotheLibrary,thelibraryconfigurationincludes
thesavedstate.
To discard state for a configuration
1MovethepointerovertheundeployedconfigurationnameandselectDiscardState.
2ClickOK.
Delete a Configuration
Youcandeleteaworkspaceorlibraryconfigurationifyounolongerneeditortofreeupdiskspaceona
datastore.
Youmustundeployaconfigurationbeforeyoucandeleteit.
To delete a configuration
1MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandselectDelete.
2ClickOKtoconfirmthedeletion.
Using LiveLink
ALiveLinkistheHTTPSURLofalibraryconfiguration.YoucancreateaLiveLinkandemailitsURLto
anotherLab Manageruser,whocanclickittodeployacopyoftheconfigurationexactlyasitwaswhenitwas
savedtothelibrary.
Forexample,ifyouaretesting
softwareinaworkspaceconfigurationandencounterabug,youcancapture
theconfigurationtothelibraryandthencreateaLiveLinktothatconfiguration.

YoucanonlycreateLiveLinksforsharedlibraryconfigurations.See“ShareaConfiguration”onpage 55for
moreinformation.
To create a LiveLink to a configuration
1OntheLibrarypage,movethepointeroveraconfigurationnameandselectLiveLink.
Lab ManagerdisplaystheLiveLinkURLforthelibraryconfiguration.
2ClickCopyURLtocopytheURLtoyourWindows
clipboard.
IfyouareusingtheMozillaFirefoxbrowser,theCopyURLbuttonmightnotappear.Inthiscase,copy
theURLmanually.
