Adding Configurations to the Library
YoucanaddaworkspaceconfigurationtotheLibrarybycapturingitorarchivingit.Capturingaworkspace
configurationmakesitavailableasabaseconfigurationthatotheruserscancopyandcustomize.Archivinga
configurationpreservesitforfuturereference.Forexample,anauditmightrequirethatyoushowthe
exact
stateofyoursoftwarefromyearsago.
Capture a Workspace Configuration to the Library
YoucansaveaworkspaceconfigurationtotheLibrarytomakeacopyavailabletootherusers.Youshould
savecommonbaseconfigurationstothelibrarysothatotherLab Manageruserscanworkwithormodify
copiesofthoseconfigurations.
WhenyoucaptureaconfigurationtotheLibrary,itbecomesprivate,
regardlessofthesharingpropertiesithad
intheworkspace.You canmodifyalibraryconfigurationatanytimetoshareitwithmembersofother
organizationsandworkspaces.
To capture a configuration to the Library
1MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandselectCapturetoLibrary.
2Typeaname.
Useauniquenamingconventiontosimplifyidentification.
3 (Optional)
Typeadescription.
4 (Optional)SelecttheGoldMastercheckboxtoindicateanimportantoradministrator‐approved
configuration.
5 (Optional)Typechangesummarytextthatwillappearonthecapturedconfiguration’sHistorytab.
6Specifyatimetodeletetheconfigurationfromstorageormarktheconfigurationfordeletion.
7ClickCapture.
Archive a Workspace Configuration to the Library
Youcanpreservetheexactstateofaconfigurationintheconfigurationlibrary.Archivedconfigurationsare
read‐only,butyoucanclone,export,anddeletethem.
WhenyouarchiveaconfigurationtotheLibrary,itretainsthesharingpropertiesithadintheworkspace.
For example,ifyouarchiveaprivateworkspace
configuration,thelibraryconfigurationisalsoprivate.
You canmodifyalibraryconfigurationatanytimetoshareitwithmembersofotherorganizationsand
workspaces.
To archive a configuration to the Library
1MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandselectArchivetoLibrary.
2Typeanamefortheconfiguration.
Useauniquenamingconventiontosimplifyidentification.
3 (Optional)
Typeadescription.
4 (Optional)Typechangesummarytextthatwillappearonthearchivedconfiguration’sHistorytab.
5Specifyatimetodeletetheconfigurationfromstorageormarktheconfigurationfordeletion.
6 Selecttheclonetype.
IfyouselectFullClone,specifythedestinationdatastore.
7ClickOK.
