1OntheVMTemplatespage,movethepointeroverthevirtualmachinetemplatenameandselect
View Console.
2Logintotheguest
operatingsystem.
3ClickInstallVMwareTools.
Theremainingstepsarecompletedintheguestoperatingsystem.
4Completeoneofthetasks.
IfyouseeaVMwareToolsCDicononthedesktop,double‐clickit,anddouble‐clicktheRPMinstaller
intherootoftheCD‐ROM.
Ifyouseeafilemanagerwindow,double‐clicktheRPMinstallerfile.
InsomeLinuxdistributions,iftheVMwareToolsCDiconfailstoappear,installVMwareToolsfromthe
commandline.
5Whenprompted,typetherootpasswordandclickOK.
Theinstallerpreparesthepackages.
6ClickContinuewhenthe
packageisready.
Adialogboxappearswithaprogressbar.WhenVMwareToolsisinstalled,thereisnoconfirmationor
Finishbutton.
7InanXterminal,asroot(su -),runvmware-config-tools.pltoconfigureVMwareTools.
8PressEntertoacceptthedefaultvalue.
9Aftertheupgradeiscomplete,restartthenetwork
byrunning/etc/init.d/network restart.
