This methodallowsyoutousetheLDAPserver’sexistinguserandgroupinformation,withoutrecreatingthis
informationinLabManager.YoucanalsocreatelocalusersfromtheWebconsole.
Asystemadministratororan
administratorwithrightsattheorganizationlevelcanaddusersorgroupstoan
organizationandassigneachuserorgrouparoleintheorganization.Theorganizationdetermineswhich
resourcesauserhasaccessto,andtheroledetermineshowausercaninteractwiththeseresources.
Users cannotlog
intoLabManageroraccessanyresourcesuntiltheyareaddedtoanorganization.

Import a User
Bydefault,onlysystemadministratorsandadministratorswithrightsattheorganizationlevelcanimport
users.YoucanimportusersthatexistonanLDAPserverorusersthatyoucreatedfromtheWebconsole.

theleftpane,clickUsersandGroups.
2IntheOrganizationdrop‐downmenu,selecttheorganizationtowhichyouwanttoaddtheuser.
IfyouselectGlobal,thisuserisavailabletoallorganizations.
3OntheUserstab,clickImportUsers.
4 DeselecttheShowExistingUsers/Groupscheckbox.
Deselectingthisoptionallowsyoutosearchforuserswhoarenotmembersoftheselectedorganization.
5Typethename(completeorpartial)oftheuserthatyouwanttoaddandclickSearch.
Lab ManagersearchesforLDAPandnon‐LDAPusersanddisplaysthefirst200resultsthatmatchthe
searchterms.
