IfyouselectedFencedOnly,selectaConnectivityoption:
AllowInandOut–Virtualmachinescancommunicatewithmachinesoutsidethefenceand
machinesoutsidethefencecancommunicatewithvirtualmachinesinsidethefencedconfiguration.
AllowOut–Virtualmachinesinafencedconfigurationcaninitiatecommunicationtomachines
outsidethefence,andcanreceivemessagesbackonthesameconnection.Machinesoutsidethefence
cannotinitiatecommunicationtovirtualmachinesinsidethefencedconfiguration.
BlockInandOut–Networktrafficdoesnottravelacrossthefence.Virtualmachinesinafenced
configurationcannotcommunicatewithmachinesoutsideofthefence,andmachinesoutsidethe
fencecannotcommunicatewithvirtualmachinesinthefencedconfiguration.

Bydefault,onlysystemadministratorscanaddhostspanningtransportnetworks.
To add a host spanning transport network
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2IntheOrganization
drop‐downmenu,selecttheorganizationtowhichyouwanttoaddthehost
spanningtransportnetwork.
IfyouselectGlobal,theaddedhostspanningtransportnetworkisavailabletoallorganizationsbut
assignedtonone.Youcanassignittoanorganizationlater.
3OntheHostSpanningTransportNetworkstab,
clickAddTransportNetwork.
4 SelectavNetworkDistributedSwitch.
5TypeaVLANIdentifier.
6 SelectEnabledifyouwanttoenablethenetworkforuseinvirtual/fencenetworkHostSpanning.
7 SelecttheCustomizeNamecheckboxtomodifythedisplayname.
