Bydefault,onlysystemadministratorscanaddmediastores.AmediastoreisanNFSorVMFSdatastorethat
isenabledformedia.Youcanusedifferentdirectoriesonthesamedatastoreformediaandvirtualmachines.
To add a media store
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2IntheOrganizationdrop‐downmenu,selectthe
organizationtowhichyouwanttoaddthemediastore.
IfyouselectGlobal,theaddedmediastoreisavailabletoallorganizationsbutassignedtonone.Youcan
assignittoorganizationslater.
3OntheDatastorestab,movethepointeroverthedatastorethatyouwanttouseasa
mediastoreandselect
EnableMedia.
4OntheMediaStorestab,clickAddMediaStore.
5Typeaname.
6 Selectthedatastore.
7Typethedirectorypathtothemedia.
ForNFSdatastores,typethepathrelativetothemountpoint.ForVMFSdatastores,typethepathrelative
