Delete Network Templates
Bydefault,onlysystemadministrators,administratorswithrightsattheorganizationlevel,andtemplate
creatorscandeletenetworktemplates.Afteryoudeleteanetworktemplate,youcannotselectitasthenetwork
foravirtualmachinenetworkinterface,oraddittoaconfiguration.
Existingvirtualmachinesandconfigurationsthatare
usethenetworktemplatearenotaffected.Youcannot
deleteanetworktemplatethatisbeingusedbyavirtualmachinetemplate.
To delete a network template
1Intheleftpane,selectNetworkTemplates.
2MovethepointeroverthenetworktemplatenameandselectDelete.
3ClickOK.
Lab Managerdeletesthenetworktemplate.
Monitor IP Pool Usage for a Virtual Network
SystemadministratorscanmonitortheIPpoolofavirtualnetworkthatisbasedonanetworktemplate.Ifa
virtualnetworkisrunningoutofIPaddresses,andyouwanttoaddmore,see“A d d IPAddressestotheIP
PoolofaVirtualNetwork”onpage 124.
Everyvirtualmachine
thatusesastaticIPaddressingmodeforaNIC,andisconnectedtoavirtualnetwork,
requiresanIPaddressfromthevirtualnetwork’sIPpool.ThisIPaddressstayswiththevirtualmachine
throughthevariousoperationsinLab Manager.Whenyoudeleteallinstancesofthevirtualmachinewith
this
IPaddress,Lab ManagerreleasestheIPaddressbacktotheIPpool.
TocontrolthelengthoftimeLab ManagerreservesreleasedIPaddressesbeforereturningthemtotheIPpool,
see“ConfiguringGeneralPreferences”onpage 135.
Whenyoudeployaconfigurationwithavirtualnetworkconnectedtoaphysicalnetwork,
Lab Manager
createsavirtualrouterandassignsitanIPaddressfromthevirtualnetworkIPpool.Whenyouundeploythis
configuration,Lab ManagerreleasestheIPaddressimmediately.
To monitor a virtual network’s IP pool

2MovethepointeroveraconfigurationnameandselectOpen.
3ClicktheNetworkstab.
4Movethe
pointeroveravirtualnetworknameandselectIPPool.
Add IP Addresses to the IP Pool of a Virtual Network
Bydefault,systemadministrators,administratorswithrightsattheorganizationlevel,andtemplatecreators
canaddIPaddressestoavirtualnetwork.Configurationownersanduserswiththerighttoedit
configurationscanalsoaddIPaddressestoavirtualnetwork.
To add IP addresses to a virtual network
1MovepointeroveraconfigurationnameandselectOpen.
2Click
Networkstab.
3MovepointeroveravirtualnetworknameandselectIPPool.
4ClicktheGeneraltab.
5EnteranIPaddressorIPaddressrangeintheStaticIPAddressPooltextboxandclickAdd.
6ClickUpdate.
