Disabling VMware Tools Check Before Publishing Virtual
Machine Templates
Bydefault,youcannotpublishavirtualmachinetemplatethatdoesnothaveacurrent
versionofVMwareToolsinstalled.Youmightneedtobypassthisrequirementinthese
circumstances:
YoucannotinstallthecurrentversionofVMware Toolsbecauseyoumusthave
specialscriptsinthevirtualmachinetemplateforcustomization.
YouimportvirtualmachinetemplatesthathaveanoldversionoftheLM Tools
utilityandyoucannotupgradetheVMware Toolsutilityonthosevirtualmachine
templates.
Inthiscase,Lab ManagerrecognizestheLM Toolsutilityandcancustomizethe
guestoperatingsystemaccordingtotheneedsofthatutility.VMwaredoesnot
recommendthisapproach.

To disable the check of VMware Tools
1Intheleftpane,clickSettings.
2OntheGuestCustomizationtab,deselecttheOnlyAllowPublishingof
TemplatesWithaVersionofVMware ToolsThatSupportsGuest
Customizationcheckbox.
