Credential Requirements for Connecting Lab Manager to the
VirtualCenter Server
TosetupaconnectionwiththeVirtualCenterServer,LabManagerrequiresauserwho
ispartofaroleinVirtualCenterwithatleasttheprivilegeslistedinTable 8‐1.Aswith
otherrolesinVirtualCenter,youcanassignWindowsusersorVirtualCenterusersto
thisrole.
Lab Managerrequiresthe
usertohavecertainpermissionsonobjects.Anychangein
theroleofthisusertoanotherVirtualCenterrolewithfewerprivilegeshinders
Lab Manageroperations.Forexample,assigningtheusertotheNoAccessrolein
VirtualCenterforanobject,suchasaresourcepool,blocksthevisibilityofthis
objectin

InthePermissionstaboftheVIClient,specifyaccesspermissionsfortheuserto
therootfolder(Hosts&ClustersintheleftpaneoftheVIClient)andthe
datacenterthatworkswithLab Manager.Makesuretopropagatethepermissions
toallchildobjectsinthedatacenter.
TheVI
