IntheContextview,thechainofvirtualmachineandinternalnodedirectoriesareto
therightoftheancestordirectories.Theboxeswiththickbordersrepresentthevirtual
machinesthatyoucanseeintheLab ManagerWebconsole.Theboxeswithlighter
bordersrepresentthehiddeninternaldirectoriesassociatedwith
thevirtualmachines.
Deletionofinternalnodesonlyoccursasasideeffectofdeletingthevirtualmachines
associatedwiththosenodes.
Blueboxesindicatedeployeddirectories,whileayellowboxindicatestheselected
virtualmachine.Thedefaultcolorforboxesisgray.
Ifyoumovethepointeroverabox,
youcanseevariousdetails,includingtheamount
ofspacethevirtualmachineorinternalnodeconsumesandthetotalamountofspace
reclaimedifthenodeisremoved.Forexample,ifyouseeSize:277MB(554MB),277
reflectsthespaceoftheselectednode,and554isthe
totalspace.Thetotalamountis
calculatedbyaddingthespaceofthenodeandallassociatednodestotherightofthe
selectednode.
Previouslydeployedandcurrentlydeployedvirtualmachinesshowwhentheywere
lastdeployed.Internalnodesdonotdisplaythisinformation.
Aturquoiseboxindicatesarevert
reference.Thisreferencepointimpliesanother
directory(createdbyafullcloneoperationonadifferentdatastore)existsoutsideofthe
displayeddirectorytreebutusesadirectorylinkedtothisrevertreferenceasarevert
point.Thisdependencyaffectsyourabilitytodeletedirectories.
Todeleteadirectorylinkedto
arevertreference,deletethevirtualmachineassociated
withtherevertreferenceandthedescendantsofthedirectory.

1ClickResourcesintheleftpane.
2IntheDatastorestab,clicktheViewDatastoreUsagebutton.
Toviewtheusageonasingledatastore,movethepointeroverthedatastorename
andchooseOpen
fromthemenu.
3ClicktheRefreshDiskSpacebuttontoensurethatthedataiscurrent.
4MovethepointeroverthevirtualmachinenameandchooseContextfromthe
menu.
YoucanusetheSSMoveutilitytomoveanentiredatastore,oraspecifictreeofvirtual
machines,toanotherdatastore.The
SSMoveutilityisavailableontheLab Manager
serverinthefollowinglocation:
