Attaching and Detaching Resource Pools
IfyouaresettingupLab Managerforthefirsttime,orifyouneedtoprovidemoreCPU
andmemoryresourcesforLab Managervirtualmachines,usetheResourcePoolstab
toattacharesourcepooltoLab Manager.
Bydefault,onlyadministratorscanattachanddetachresourcepools.
Beforeyoucandetacha
resourcepool,youmustdisableitandundeployallvirtual
machinesassociatedwithit.See“EnablingandDisablingResourcePools”onpage 164
and“UndeployingAllVirtualMachinesinaResourcePool”onpage 165.
To attach a resource pool
1Intheleftpane,clickResources.
2ClicktheResourcePoolstab.
3 Selecttheorganizationtowhichyouwant
toaddtheresourcepoolfromthe
Organizationdropdownmenu.
ChoosetheGlobalorganizationtoaddtheresourcepoolasaresourceavailableto
allorganizations,butassignedtonone.Youcanassignittoorganizationslater.
4ClicktheAttachResourcePoolbutton.
5 Selecttheresourcepool,cluster,orhostfrom
theVirtualCenterinventory.
6 (Optional)EnteradisplaynamefortheresourcepoolinLab Manager.
7ClickOK.
IfLab ManagerdetectsthatahostisnotpreparedforLab Manager(forexample,itdoes
nothaveanagentthatLab Managerinstalledonthehost),amessageappearsaskingif
youwanttolaunchthe
PrepareHostswizardorgobackandselectadifferentresource
