Cloning a Library Configuration to the Workspace
IfyouhaveaLibraryconfigurationthatyouwanttoworkwith,youcancloneittothe
Workspace.LabManagercreatesanewconfigurationintheWorkspace,whichyoucan
modifyanddeploy.TheoriginalconfigurationremainsintheLibrary,souserscan
continuetomakeadditionalclones.
Cloningto
theWorkspacecreatesalinkedclone.Alinkedcloneoperationcreatesa
deltadiskinsteadofcopyinganentirevirtualharddisk.Thisoperationaddresses
virtualmachineproliferationbyusingreferentialprovisioning,aprocessthatinvolves
storingnewchangesbutreferringbacktoachainofdeltadisks.Foreachclone,
Lab Managerfreezestheoriginaldeltadiskandcreatesanewone.
Youcancloneallthevirtualmachinesinaconfigurationorselectedmachines.Youcan
alsocombineconfigurationsbycloningaLibraryconfigurationtoanexisting
Workspaceconfiguration.

To clone a configuration to the Workspace
1OntheLibrarypage,movethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandchoose
ClonetoWorkspacefromthemenu.
2Specifythedestination:
NewConfiguration
Enteraname,description,andstoragelease.
ExistingConfiguration
Selectaconfiguration.
3Specifythevirtualmachinestoclone:
AllVirtualMachines
SelectedVirtualMachines
Selectthecheckboxforeachvirtualmachineyouwanttoclone.
4ClickOK.
Afterabrieftime,anundeployedcopyoftheLibraryconfigurationappearsinthe
Workspacepage.
