Importing Configurations from an SMB Share
YoucanimportaconfigurationandallitsvirtualmachinefilesfromSMBshare.
ImportoperationsrequireanopenSMBportontheESXhost.AlthoughLab Manager
openstheportduringinstallation,makesurethattheportwasnotclosedafterthe
install.Tochecktheportstatus,usetheesxcfg-firewall -q smbClient
command
oneachhost.
Importingaconfigurationinvolvesspecifyingastoragelease.See“Configuring
ResourceCleanupSettings”onpage 198.
To import a configuration
1OntheWorkspacepage,selecttheorganizationtowhichyouwanttoimportthe
configurationintheOrganizationdropdownmenu.
2ClicktheImportConfigurationbuttonatthetopofthepage.
3Provide
theimportdirectorydetails:
UNCpathofthedirectory(relativetotheLab ManagerServersystem)where
theconfigurationfileisstored.Asamplepathis
\\10.6.1.246\VMwareLM\ExportedConfigs.UseEnglishcharactersforthe
UNCpath.
Usernameandpasswordfortheimportdirectory,ifnecessary.
4ClickNext.
5Provideconfigurationdetails:
Name

Timetodeletetheconfigurationormarktheconfigurationfordeletion
Destinationdatastore
6ClickImport.
Whenyouimportaconfigurationthatyoupreviouslyexported,Lab Managersetsthe
fencingpolicyfortheimportedconfigurationtoFencedOnly.Tomodifythefencing
