Copying Configurations
Youcancreateacomplete(deep)copyofyourconfigurationoraconfigurationshared
byanotheruser.Likecloning,copyingcreatesanewconfigurationbasedonthe
originalconfiguration.Theoriginalconfigurationcontinuestoexist.Unlikecloning,
copyingdoesnotusedeltadisks,butrathercreatesanewconfigurationthatincludes
consolidatedversionsofthevirtualmachinesintheoriginalconfigurationwithno
dependencieson“basedisks”.Eachvirtualmachineinthenewconfigurationbecomes
itsownbasedisk.
Thisoperationtakesalongertimethanthecloneoperation.Typically ,youdonotcopy
aconfigurationunlessyouneedtodismantlethe
storageserveronwhichthe
configuration’svirtualmachinesresideandmovethevirtualmachinestoadifferent
server.
To copy a configuration
1Intheleftpane,clickWorkspaceorLibrary.
2Iftheconfigurationisdeployed,movethepointerovertheconfigurationnameand
chooseUndeploy‐SaveStateorUndeploy‐DiscardStatefromthemenu.
3Move
thepointerovertheconfigurationnameandchooseCopyfromthemenu.

OTEIfallthevirtualmachinesintheconfigurationareturnedoff,youcanonly
chooseUndeploy,becausethereisnostateinformationtosaveordiscard.
