Copying Templates
Copyatemplatetocreateacomplete(deep)copy.Likecloning,copyingcreatesanew
templatebasedontheoriginaltemplate.Theoriginaltemplatecontinuestoexist.
Unlikecloning,copyingdoesnotusedeltadisks,butrathercreatesanewtemplatethat
isaconsolidatedversionoftheoriginalwithno
dependenciesona“basedisk”.The
newtemplatebecomesitsownbasedisk.
Thisoperationtakesalongertimethanthecloneoperation.Typically ,youdonotcopy
atemplateunlessyouneedtodismantlethestorageserveronwhichthetemplate
residesandmovethetemplatetoadifferentserver.
To copy a template
1Fromtheleftpane,clickTemplates.
2Ifthetemplateisdeployed,movethepointeroverthetemplatenameandchoose
Undeployfromthemenu.
3MovethepointeroverthetemplatenameandchooseCopyfromthemenu.
4Specifythedetailsonthetemplate:
aEnteraname.

c Selectthestorage
serverforthecopyofthetemplate.
dSpecifyatimetoundeploythetemplate.
Ifanadministratorsetsasystem‐wideleasetime,auserwithout
