2Ifthetemplateisnotdeployed,movethepointeroverthetemplatenameand
chooseDeployfromthemenu.
3MovethepointeroverthetemplatenameandchooseViewConsolefromthe
menu.
4Logintotheguestoperatingsystem.
5ClickInstallVMwareTools.
Ifthe
installationdoesnotstart,autorunmightbedisabledintheregistry.To
manuallyrunVMwareTools,navigatetotheCDdriveinWindowsExplorerand
runVMwareTools.exe.
InstallingVMwareToolstakesseveralminutesandrequiresyoutorestartthe
machine.

Do I Need to Install LM Tools?
LMToolssetsthemachinenameandnetworkparameters(IPaddress,MACaddress,
SecurityIdentifier,andmore)forthevirtualmachine.Thevirtualmachineretainsthese
networkparameterswheneveritruns.
WithoutLMTools,thevirtualmachineusestheIPaddressofthetemplate.This
situationcreatesnetwork
conflictswhenyoucreatevirtualmachinesfromthesame
templateatthesametime.ToavoidthisconflictwithoutusingLMTools,accessthe
virtualmachineconsolethroughLab Managerandmanuallysetthenetwork
parameterstouniquevalues.
IfyouhaveaWindowsvirtualmachinewithoutLMTools,andyouintend
toaddthe
virtualmachinetoaWindowsdomain,changetheSecurityIdentifier(SID)using
MicrosoftSyspreporanotherthird‐partytool.
