Inserting Floppy Disks
Youcanuploaddata(forexample,drivers)toatemplatefromthemedialibrary.During
theInsertFloppyoperationavailablefromtheindividualconsoleofatemplateor
configuration,youcanaccessthefloppyfilesinthemedialibrary.

To insert a floppy disk into a virtual machine
1Fromthevirtualmachineconsolewindow,movethepointeroverthevirtual
machinenameandchooseInsertFloppyfromthemenu.
2Specifytheinformationforthefloppyfile:
a Selectafloppyfilefromthemedialibrary.
VMwarerecommendsputtingyourfloppyfilesinthedefault
\\VMwareLM\ISOdirectorycreatedduring
installation.Imagesinthis
directoryareautomaticallypopulatedtotheMediaLibrarylist.
bIfyourfloppyimagefiledoesnotappearintheMediaLibrarylist,specifythe
detailsontheUNCpath:
EntertheUNCnameofyourimage(forexample,
\\10.6.1.2\Public\Floppy\floppy.vfd).
UseEnglishcharactersfortheUNCpath.
Ifrequired,enterausernameandpassword.
cClickUse.
Thevirtualmachineconsoleappears.TheEjectFloppyandSwapFloppyoptions
replacetheInsertFloppyoptiononthemouseovermenu.
Ejecting Floppy Disks
Afterinsertingafloppydisktoavirtualmachine,youcanejectthefloppydisk.
To eject the floppy disk from a virtual machine
Fromthevirtualmachineconsolewindow,movethepointeroverthevirtualmachine
nameandchooseEjectFloppyfromthemenu.
