TurnOffTurnsoffallvirtualmachinesintheconfiguration.Turningoffavirtual
machineisthevirtualequivalentofpoweringdownaphysicalmachine.The
configurationremainsregisteredontheManagedServerpool.
TheTurnOnoptionreversesthisoperation.
SuspendSuspendsCPUsforallthevirtualmachines.Theconfigurationremains
registeredontheManagedServerpool.
TheResumeoptionreversesthisoperation.
Cloning Configurations
Youcancloneyourownconfigurationorconfigurationssharedbyotherusers.When
youcloneaconfiguration,LabManagerassignsthesamenetworkparameterstothe
clonedvirtualmachines.Ifyoudeploytheoriginalandclonedconfigurationsatthe
sametime,duplicateIPaddresserrorsoccurunlessoneoftheconfigurations
is
deployedinfencedmode.
Inafencedconfiguration,virtualmachinesretainthesameIPaddresswit hinthefence.
LabManagerassignsnewexternalIPaddressesforcommunicationoutsidethefence.
Eachtimeyoudeployafencedconfiguration,LabManagerassignsnewexternalIP
addressesfromtheLabManagerIPaddress
pool.LabManagerreturnstheIP
addressestothepoolwhenthefencedconfigurationisundeployed.

To clone a configuration
1Intheleftpane,clickWorkspace.
2MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandchooseClonefromthemenu.
CAUTION Duringtheundeployoperation,anorderlyshutdownofthevirtual
machinesdoesnotexist.Theundeployoperation“turnsoffthe
virtualmachinesbeforeuninstantiatingthem,andremovesthemfrom
theManagedServerpool.Forexample,ifyouhaveanapplicationopen
onaWindowsvirtualmachine,youmustremembertosave
yourwork.
Ifyouneedtopreservethecurrentstateoftheconfiguration,capture
theconfigurationtotheconfigurationlibrary.
NOTE LabManagerdoesnotreturntheIPaddressofaclonedorcopiedvirtual
machinetotheIPpooluntilthevirtualmachineandallitscopiesaredeleted.
