Importing Templates
ImportingatemplateimpliesbringingavirtualmachineexternaltotheLabManager

orVMFSstoragetoserveasatemplate.Refertotheinstructionsinthissectionfor
VMFSstorageifyouhaveanexistingtemplate
onanESXServermachineandyouwant
tomovethetemplateunderLabManagercontrol.
YoucanimportamachinethatLabManagerwasnotawareof,oryoucanimporta
machinethatwaspreviouslyexportedbyLabManager.
Thesetupforthevirtualmachineisprimarilystoredin
thesefiles:
Virtualmachinedisk(.vmdk)file.Youcanhavemultiple.vmdkfiles.
Virtualmachineconfiguration(.vmxforVMware)file.Thisfileisapproximately
15K.
LabManagersupportsthesetypesofvirtualmachinesforimportoperations:
VMwareWorkstation
VMwareServer
VMwareESXServer
LabManagerdoesnotsupporttemplateswithmultipleNICsorIDEdiskdrives.Ifyou
