Starting Configuration
Aconfigurationsourcecannotbeaphysicalmachine.YoucanconfigurefilesonlyfromaVMwarestandalone
virtualmachineorfromanESX ServerorVirtualCentervirtualmachine.
To start the Configuration Wizard
1StarttheVMwareConverterapplication.
2ClickConfigureMachineintheapplicationmenu.
3ClickNext.
Select a VMware Infrastructure Virtual Machine as Source
UsethisprocedureifyoursourcesystemisaVMwareESXServerorVirtualCenterservermachine.
To select a source ESX Server virtual machine to configure
1OntheSourcepage,clickNexttogototheSourceTypepage.
2 SelectVMwareInfrastructureVirtualmachinefromthedropdownmenuandclickNext.
3TypeorchoosetheESXServercontainingthevirtual
machinetobeconfigured.
TheServerdropdownmenuispopulatedwiththeidentifiersorlocationsofsystemsthatwereloggedin
topreviously.Youcantypeanewidentifier.
4 SelectavirtualmachinetoconfigurefromthelistofthosefoundontheESXServermachineyoulogged
