YoucanexportavirtualmachinetoanOVFvirtualappliancetomakeitavailabletootheruserstoimportinto
theirinventory.
To export a virtual appliance
1StarttheVMwareConverterapplication,clickConvertMachineintheapplicationmenu,andclickNext.
2OntheSourcepage,clickNexttogototheSourceTypepage.
3 Choose
asourcemachinefromthedrop‐downmenuontheSourceTypepage.
Donotchooseavirtualapplianceoraphysicalmachine.
4OntheSourceDatapage,ensurethatConvertalldisksandmaintainsizeisselectedandclickNext.
5OntheDestinationpage,clickNexttomovetotheDestinationTypepage.
6 SelectVirtualAppliancefromthedrop‐downmenuandclicknext.
7Enterthevirtualappliancenameandbrowseforalocation.
Thelocationcanbelocaloraremotemachinepathsharedoverthenetwork.
YoucancreateOVFpackagescontainingmonolithiccompressed.vmdkfilesonly.Thefilescanexistin
thesamefolderorcanbecontainedinasingletarred.ovafile.
8Enterthedetailsofyourvirtualappliance.ClickAdvancedtoeditthedetails.
aClickthecheckboxnexttotheinformationtoincludeinyourOVForOVApackage.
Youcanincludetheproductname,
URL,version,vendor,vendorURL,andanyannotations.
bClickthetrianglenexttoaselectiontoexpanditandclickEdittoedittheinformation.

networks,ontheAdvancedmetadatadetailspage,create
andeditthenetworksavailableforyourvirtual
applianceforlatermapping.
10 BrowsetoalicenselocationtodisplayfortheEndUserLicenseAgreement.
Youcanselectfromzerotomultiplelicenses.Clicktheupordownarrowstochangetheorderinwhich
thelicensesarelisted.
