Receiving the NEC ESMPRO event relevant to the sensor status, sensor
diagnosis analyzes the statuses of sensors whose types are the same as the
sensor which has sent the triggered event. If any sensor does not respond due to
communication failure or hardware failure, sensor diagnosis decides whether it
ends normally or abnormally according to the importance of the triggered event.
The target NEC ESMPRO event is as follows:
Target event Source
SystemMonitorEvent ESMCOMMONSERVICE
ESMLOCALPOLLING
Sensor diagnosis skips diagnosing for NEC ESMPRO events other than the
above.
Other events
For events other than the OOB Management events and the NEC ESMPRO event,
sensor diagnosis does not execute diagnosis but set faulted status, and ends
normally. If the sensor which has sent the event does not respond due to
communication failure or hardware failure, sensor diagnosis set faulted status on
the sensor.
There are cases where sensor diagnosis cannot obtain the sensor status properly
because of the machine power status. In this case the sensor diagnosis returns the
result as follows according to the machine power status.
When the machine power status changes while sensor diagnosis is running
This case may occur if the machine is automatically shut down or rebooted by HW
failure. In this case, sensor diagnosis judges that the machine has HW failure and
sets faulted status, and ends normally.
When the machine power status is already off before the sensor diagnosis runs
The machine power may have been turned off before sensor diagnosis runs
because the machine had been in critical or non-recoverable state. In this case,
sensor diagnosis judges that the machine has HW failure and sets faulted status,
and ends normally.
