Adding ICMP Echo Reply to the Exception List
of Windows Server 2008 Firewall
Windows Server 2008 does not receive ICMP Echo Reply by default. Windows Server
2008 Firewall blocks the connection.
To use Ping monitoring of alive monitoring function on Windows Server 2008, perform
the following procedure to add ICMP Echo Reply to the Firewall exception list.
1. Click Start, and click Administrative Tools to open Windows Firewall with
Advanced Security.
