*1 Paths of execution files in this table are described in the format of installing DPM Server in an x86
OS machine. If DPM Server is installed in an x64 OS machine, substitute "Program Files (x86)" for
"Program Files" in the paths.
*2 Paths of execution files in this table are described in the format of installing DPM Client (Windows)
in an x86 OS machine. If DPM Client (Windows) is installed in an x64 OS machine, substitute
"SysWOW64" for "system32" in the paths.
*3 The address for the machine in the same segment as the machine on which DPM Server is
installed is 255.255.255.255. Direct broadcast is used for the machine in the different segments.
E.g.) In the segment of 192.168.0.0 (MASK = 255.255.255.0), the address is 192.168.0.255.
*4 The series of flows are PXE boot (DHCP and tftp).
*5 Depends on the NIC ROM of the attached device.
*6 If a DHCP server is set up on the same machine, the DHCP server uses it. If a DHCP server is set
up on a different machine, pxesvc.exe uses it.
*7 The protocols and port numbers described in items of "Restore" are also necessary.
*8 To operate the system with a DHCP server, the protocols and the port numbers described in the
items of "Network boot" are also necessary.
To operate the system without a DHCP server, the protocol and the port number described in the
items of "Operation without a DHCP Server" are also necessary.
*9 Make this port available because the machines installed DPM Server use the port (TCP: 56050)
for the internal process - the connection between DPM Server and Web service (IIS).
*10 You can change the port number to be used by following procedures bellow.
Example) For IIS 7.0
1) Select Start – Administrative Tools - [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager] .
2) The Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager window appears. Select Computer Name on
the tree view, and then right-click Web Sites - Web Site Name. And select Edit Bindings to change
the port number.
DPM Server uses the following protocols other than the above table.
As confirmation of existence, ICMP ECHO (ping) is used from DPM Server to
managed machines.
As restore and multicast, Multicast is used from DPM Server to managed
machines.
As installation of Service Packs, Hot Fixes, Linux patch files, and applications by
remote update, Multicast is used from DPM Server to managed machines.
