Appendix A Network Ports and Protocols
The spare virtual machine servers are selected from the ones on which no virtual
machine is running and not in failure status or maintenance status.
The number of spare machines is the value of "Specify the number of machines to
leave powered on even if they have no running VMs in order to respond quickly to load
changes. (Power Saving)" in Optimized Placement.
This action is enabled only for events detected in a virtual machine server.
"Action for VMS / Power Save VM server" has the same functions as this action, setting
both actions for one event is not recommended.
1.7.25. Action for VMS / Move all running VMs on the VM server.
(Failover)
Moves a virtual machine running on a target virtual machine server to other virtual
machine server.
As the moving method, Failover is used.
This action is only valid for events detected on virtual machine servers.
In addition, if the target virtual machine server is Pool Master of XenServer and the
machine is stopped, SystemProvisioning executes the process of switching Pool
Master with other virtual machine server.
1.7.26. Action for VMS / Move all running VMs on the VM server.
(Migration)
Moves a virtual machine running on a target virtual machine server to other virtual
machine server.
As the moving method, Migration is used.
This action is only valid for events detected on virtual machine servers.
In addition, if the target virtual machine server is Pool Master of XenServer and the
machine is stopped, SystemProvisioning executes the process of switching Pool
Master with other virtual machine server.

As the moving method, Migration is used. If Migration fails, Failover is used.
